Part-time | 25 hours per week (ideally 5 hours per day, 5 days per week with some occasional evening and weekend work) | £ 15,917.00 per annum for 25 hours per week
About Us
Moorland Medical Centre is a friendly, patient-focused GP practice dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare to our local community. We serve just under 10,000 patients. We are looking for a reliable, organised, and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our existing team of 6 receptionists.
About the Role
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing a welcoming and efficient service both in person, online and over the phone. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the practice by supporting our clinical and administrative teams.
Our reception is open between 8am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday, with Enhanced Access services being offered on Thursday evenings until 8pm and every 3rd Saturday. Our Medical Receptionists need to be flexible to ensure we have cover at all times.
Main Responsibilities
- Greeting and assisting patients in a polite and professional manner
- Answering telephone calls and managing appointment bookings
- Processing prescriptions and managing patient enquiries
- Handling patient records and correspondence accurately and confidentially
- Handling all of our online triage forms and ensuring that they are either responded to or directed to the appropriate place.
- Care Navigation of patients to appropriate services such as Pharmacy First, Minor injuries service when they are more appropriate for their enquiry.
About You
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Confident using computers and medical systems (training provided)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Calm under pressure
- Flexible to respond to the needs of the business.
- Previous experience in a medical or customer service environment is an advantage but not essential – full training will be given
Working Hours & Pay
- 25 hours per week (flexible pattern to be agreed)
- 23 days annual leave increasing after 5 years’ service plus bank holidays (31 days per year total)
- Paid sick leave after a qualifying period
